Man charged for hitting traffic flag-man in Otter Lake

A 57-year-old man from Otter-Lake is facing multiple charges after hitting a traffic flag-man at a construction site yesterday afternoon (March 27) and fleeing the scene.

The victim, who was working on the Picanoc Road in Otter-Lake at the time, was assessed at the scene by paramedics and was not transported to hospital. The driver did not stop to assist the victim, and was arrested less than two hours after the incident. Workers on the site were able to get the license plate number as well as a good description of the driver and vehicle. Police say his impatience and aggressiveness were the cause of the incident. He has no previous criminal record and was released with a promise to appear.

He could face charges of hit-and-run causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and assault.
