Man arrested for outstanding Ontario warrants
On Wednesday afternoon (December 7), a man was arrested on Hwy. 148 in Shawville due to several outstanding arrest warrants in Ontario.
At around 5:30 p.m., Sûreté du Québec officers from the MRC Pontiac station were notified that a person sought by police in Ontario would be in a vehicle on Hwy. 148 in Shawville. Police located the vehicle around 6:30 p.m. in the Shawville area, and arrested a 41-year-old Bristol man, wanted for seven outstanding arrest warrants in Ontario.
During the intervention, the police noticed that the suspect had consumed alcohol despite having conditions that prohibited him from drinking. He was released on a summons for his breach of condition. He will have to return to the Campbell’s Bay Courthouse at a later date for further proceedings. Subsequently, he was taken to the Ontario Provincial Police in connection with his arrest warrants in that province.
