On Thursday afternoon (February 15),  at around 1 p.m. police received a call for a vehicle that had gone of road on Hwy. 148 in Waltham. The caller mentioned that he had stopped to give assistance to the vehicle, but the driver had jumped in his running vehicle and taken off.

Police managed to locate the vehicle on chemin de la Passe in Mansfield, near the intersection with rue Léonard and the subject was near the vehicle. Police arrested the man, a 21-year-old from Montreal, and he was taken to the station and then the hospital to give a blood sample. Police discovered that the initial vehicle the suspect had been driving was reported stolen by the OPP.

The suspect is expected to appear at the Campbell’s Bay Courthouse Friday where he could face charges of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle and theft of an identification card.
