Major speeding offence in Pontiac
A 44-year-old Kanata man has been fined more than 800 dollars for a major speeding offence in the Pontiac RCM.
Quebec provincial police stopped the driver on Route 301 in Portage-du-Fort around 10:30 a.m. on August 28th.
Police say he was driving 100 kilometres an hour in a 50-kilometre-an-hour zone.
He was issued an 872-dollar ticket and received 10 demerit points.
The Sûreté du Québec says the enforcement is part of its road safety strategy, which aims to reduce fatal and serious-injury collisions and make Quebec’s roads safer.
