Over 200 people gathered at the Pontiac Conference Centre on Friday, January 24 for the traditional lumberjack dinner, an evening benefiting Parc des Chutes Coulonge. The auction of a trip to Newfoundland raised $4,000. According to organizer (and Pontiac Warden) Jane Toller, nearly half the attendees came from Ontario.

Despite an interruption during the pandemic, the event has been held annually for the past ten years with a show by the same musicians, Gail Gavan, Louis Schryer, and their guests. Toller confirmed the event would return next year, again in support of the Chutes Park.

Park Manager Brittany Morin explained that they were using the funds to expand their winter activities with the goal of becoming more of a four-season attraction. She added that this year they were introducing “timber-putt” a mix between hockey and mini-putt.
