L’Isle-aux-Allumettes: Winston Sunstrum hopes to meet with Hydro-Québec soon
Power outages in the Upper Pontiac continue to have an impact and CHIP 101,9 recently spoke to the Mayor of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, Winston Sunstrum, who said he had been in touch with Hydro Québec. This came from the information he gathered in certain articles published by the media in recent weeks.
Mr. Sunstrum said he received a message from the Director General for the Outaouais-Laurentides region, Martin Perrier, and described the responses as “different” and “good news” given that his previous attempts at communication has not been successful. Now, he hopes to organize a meeting with Hydro Quebec soon to better understand what is causing the interruptions of services and find a solution moving forward.
Although Hydro Québec has confirmed having mobilized a team in the municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes since the beginning of the week, Winston Sunstrum has indicated that more power outages happened overnight on Tuesday.
Mayor Sunstrum also said that Hydro Quebec has improved its service in recent years, but has regressed over recently years with this year already achieving new power outage records. According to Sunstrum, the outages also appear to be more frequent during the summer months.
