The municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes is advising its’ residents that use their wastewater treatment services that non-decomposable objects have been found in the sewer system. The sewage plant staff must constantly manage the presence of objects in the wastewater that should not be there, including a “large accumulation of wet wipes and paper towels throughout the entire network, including sewers that clog pumps which cause high maintenance costs and, as a result, increase citizens’ taxes”. The municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes is advising its users to throw the objects in question in garbage cans in case of doubt.
