Lifting of the ban on visits to palliative care units
Lifting of the ban on visits to palliative care units
The Government of Quebec has widened access for families to people at the end of their lives.
For the Minister Responsible for Seniors and Informal Caregivers, Marguerite Blais, this ease of the measures for residents of palliative care units is a question of human dignity.
Visits will therefore be permitted in all areas with people at the end of their life, regardless of whether imminent or not the end of life is, subject to certain conditions. Among these, note that a maximum of 3 people per 24-hour period will be authorized for these visits, one to two significant people at a time. Protection and infection prevention measures will also be put in place and visitors will have to follow several instructions.
