Lack of water in the Portage-du-Fort reservoir

The municipality of Portage-du-Fort has informed its residents that the municipality’s water reservoir is currently dry. Wednesday night in a Facebook post, the municipality asked the citizens of Portage-du-Fort to limit their water consumption, due to the water level in their reservoir, which at the time was very low. The Director General confirmed that the reservoir was empty as of Thursday morning.

“The reservoir can no longer provide water, said Lisa Dagenais, the director general of the municipality. Residents must now be vigilant and must not consume unnecessarily.”

The municipality is currently studying whether a leak or breakage could be the cause of the lack of water.
