The Alzheimer Society Outaouais signs a partnership to better support caregivers

6 May 2026 à 12:24 pm

The Alzheimer Society Outaouais and the Bien Chez Soi team have entered into a partnership agreement aimed at improving support for people living with neurocognitive disorders, as well as assistance for their caregivers.

Signed on April 10th, 2026, this collaboration is based in part on the implementation of mandatory training for Bien Chez Soi staff. Delivered by a trainer from the Alzheimer Society Outaouais, this training will cover an understanding of neurocognitive disorders, the realities experienced by those affected and their families, as well as person-centered care approaches.

The goal is to promote more humane, appropriate, and dignity-respecting interventions for those receiving care.

This partnership also aims to strengthen the support network for caregivers, who are often faced with a heavy burden and an increased need for respite.

According to both organizations, this initiative reflects a shared commitment to better address the growing reality of neurocognitive disorders in the Outaouais region, where an increasing number of families are affected.

The partners emphasize that collaboration between community, private, and healthcare sectors is essential to provide more coherent and effective support.

Bien Chez Soi is a leading Quebec network for home care and support services. With more than 60 branches across the province, it assists seniors, people with reduced autonomy, and vulnerable individuals through personalized services, helping them remain in their homes with dignity and safety.
