Kevin Murphy: New Mayor of Portage-du-Fort

 

The 2025 municipal elections in the MRC Pontiac reflected a clear appetite for change among voters in several municipalities. In Bristol, Waltham, Alleyn-et-Cawood, and Thorne, residents chose new mayors over the incumbents. The same was true in Portage-du-Fort, where Kevin Murphy was elected mayor, winning by just 10 votes over outgoing Mayor Lyne Cameron.

In addition, Martin Hérault was elected to Council Seat 1, and Nicole Thompson, a long-time community advocate and former mayoral candidate, won Council Seat 2.
