Jane Toller confirms that the reopening of Cinema Lyn is scheduled for this week
Cinema Lyn is scheduled to officially reopen this week. The well-known businesswoman and politician in the Pontiac, now owner of the Cinema, Jane Toller, hopes to be able to revive this historic building located in the heart of the village of Fort-Coulonge.
“I am also excited to see the reopening of the Lyn cinema. A lot of work has already been done. Highlights include an accessible entrance near the back of the theater with a ramp as well as accessible restrooms. We have added a new stage to allow live performances. It is no longer possible to project films in 35 millimeters and so I had to buy a digital projector as well as digital speakers. For me, it’s a tribute to the Doyle family, because it was Joe and Jean Doyle who built this theater in the 1950s. It has always been owned by the Doyle family and Barry Doyle has managed it. I look forward to thriving French and English movies on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday so the other days of the week are available for live theatre, comedians, music etc. And, for the community, we will create a Facebook site where we will announce the titles of the films. The cinema will be open for 6 months in the year from May 1 to October 31. The name will remain Cinema Lyn and I tried to keep most of the original appearance. I look forward to welcoming everyone to the only cinema in the Pontiac. Lights, camera, action, I hope. »
