The CISSS de l’Outaouais is encouraging Pontiacers to protect their community by getting vaccinated. Recent statistics showed that around 62 per cent of the population has had their first dose, which is the lowest rate of any MRC in the region. CISSSO’s vaccine campaign coordinator, Frédérique Morin, encouraged residents to take advantage of the mobile vaccination clinics that will pop up across the region in the coming days.

« The goal with increased vaccine coverage is to protect the population from a possible fourth wave. We hope that this fourth wave never arrives, but we don’t want to relive what we’ve been through. It’s the most effective way to protect our loved ones, our families and our colleagues against the spread of the virus. », Morin told CHIP FM (Translated).

The third wave, which hit the Pontiac in the spring, forced école secondaire Sieur-de-Coulonge to close and several businesses had reduced their opening hours.

Morin said that the clinics are open for first or second doses to those with or without an appointment, and while it is suggested that residents bring their RAMQ card, those without one can be vaccinated as well.
