Is it normal to see tornadoes in the Outaouais?

With the unsual weather in the Outaouais in recent months, including a few tornadoes in the region, in the fall and last Sunday, many people are wondering what’s causing the phenomenon. CHIP 101.9 asked Environment Canada meteorologist André Cantin.

On Environment Canada’s website, it is said that tornadoes occur quite frequently in Canada, but only in specific areas, including southern Ontario and southern Quebec. They can happen at any time of the year, but the tornado season runs from April to September (June and July being the months in which we count them the most).
