The brand-new issue of Naître et grandir magazine for March and April has just been released, offering families a wealth of relevant, inspiring, and accessible information to support children’s development.

This issue highlights key topics for the well-being of children and parents, offering both practical advice and reflections on major stages of early childhood. Readers will find articles on nutrition, sleep, play, learning, and emotional development, as well as answers to frequently asked parenting questions. In an interview with Nathalie Vasiloff, the magazine’s director, Geneviève Doray, discusses the content featured in this new edition:

“The main dossier in this issue discusses autonomy in children. Many specialists are noticing a setback in the development of autonomy in children, which prompted Naître et grandir to write a dossier that would help parents support their children in this learning process. Geneviève Doray explains that independence doesn’t only mean to learn to do things alone, but also to make choices, to express preferences, to understand things alone and to regulate emotions, among other things. This dossier adresses things such as the necessary steps toward autonomy and tangible tips to help during this process. It also discusses emotional independence to teach kids how to regulate emotions, and suggests responsibilities for different age groups to encourage children to become more independent.

Competitive spirits are another subject of discussion in this issue. Tips are shared on how to positively encourage the spirit of competition in a child’s life, as well as teaching kids to accept defeat in competitive scenarios, such as learning to persevere and put efforts toward wanting to become better. Furthermore, the topic of breaks is featured in the magazine. Kids need break days once in a while. Daycares and schools can be overstimulating and loud for young children, as well as demanding in terms of following classroom rules and learning. A lack of a break can cause kids to have unusual habits and be stressed, which is why it is important for them to have rest days. Also in this issue, information on hyper sensitive kids and tips to help them normalize sensitive scenarios, such as picky eating. Additionally, this magazine expresses ways to talk about homelessness to inquisitive children. Information on cavities and dental care are also shared in the issue.”

Good news for listeners: the magazine is available at the radio at any time, making it easy to access and enjoy its practical content whenever you like.
