Interruption in obstetrics at the Pontiac Community Hospital
The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais (CISSS) has confirmed that a temporary interruption of service in obstetrics at the Pontiac Community Hospital will take place from midnight tonight until Thursday, October 10th, at 8pm. It was also mentioned that this situation is caused by a lack of nursing staff, which does not ensure optimal care for the obstetrics patients.
Patients in labour will be referred for delivery to the Gatineau Hospital or the Pembroke Hospital in Ontario based on their residence. In the event of a pregnant woman presenting for imminent delivery, there will be qualified personnel to provide care. The CISSS de l’Outaouais wishes to point out that this situation is temporary and will return as normal on Thursday, October 10th at 8 pm.
