Instensive care returns at the Gatineau Hospital
The CISSS de l’Outaouais issued a press release Wednesday announcing the reopening of the intensive care unit at the Gatineau Hospital, which came into effect as of this morning.
According to the CISSS, the reopening of the service is due to a reassignment of nurses trained in intensive care. However, the organization is continuing its efforts to add more resources to the intensive care at the Gatineau hospital, such as:
– Calling for retired nurses who have already worked in intensive care.
– Offer to all nurses in the intensive care unit of the Gatineau hospital a full-time job.
– Solicitation from other establishments in Quebec to explore the possibility of lending the Hospital additional nurses on a temporary basis.
– Call for independent labor agencies with nurses authorized to work in intensive care
André Fortin asks the government to increase salaries
During question period at the National Assembly, the MNA for Pontiac André Fortin insisted that the government adapt to the Outaouais region by increasing staff salaries.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais says it is confident that the reopening of the intensive care unit will be sustainable in order to provide quality care and services to the population.
