Inequality between school boards resurfaces at the National Assembly in Quebec City
The issue of inequality between the francophone school boards and the western Quebec school board resurfaced at the national assembly in Quebec City. The opposition parties demanded that the situation be corrected.
For some years, school boards have asked for a higher rate from their clientele and many choose to enrol in the English school board instead, due to lower costs. Stéphane Bergeron, MNA for Verchère and spokesperson for the Parti Québécois for the Outaouais and said that he wishes that the minister would step up and change a system that he said creates a disadvantage for young francophone in the Outaouais:
