Increase in the number of cases in the Outaouais, the CISSS and Minister Lacombe ask for the collaboration of the population
The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais appealed once again to the people of the Outaouais to respect health measures. The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past few days, or 106 cases since Saturday, is increasing and this is mainly due to sustained community transmission.
“This very worrying situation for our region reveals how the balance still remains fragile, despite our collective prevention efforts. We must, at all costs, avoid losing control and falling back into the red zone, so we must redouble our efforts and strictly observe the current instructions. Still, on a more positive note, vaccination efforts are well underway in the region, and I urge citizens to take advantage of this service as soon as their priority group is called upon to register. This is our way out for this crisis, ”said the Minister of Families and Minister responsible for the Outaouais region, Mathieu Lacombe.
The President and CEO of the CISSS de l’Outaouais, Josée Filion, mentions that “Nearly 20,000 people are now vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Outaouais. It’s encouraging! More than ever we can hope that we are on the cusp of a return to a more normal life. People are tired and anxious to see their loved ones again and hug them, but you have to keep trying. To the health care staff who have been living with the impacts of COVID-19 on a daily basis for a year: I encourage you to get vaccinated as soon as you can. Together, we will get through this crisis. ”
The CISSS de l’Outaouais also insisted that people eligible for vaccination to register online.
