Details of Monday’s power failure in the Pontiac
CHIP 101.9 obtained more information regarding the power outage that affected much of the Pontiac Monday. According to the spokesperson and advisor in community relations for Hydro-Quebec, Alain Paquette, a major equipment failure would have occurred near the Bryson Generating station, causing the lengthy power outage.
Remember: this power failure was first reported around 10:30 am Monday with the power expected to return, according to early reports, in the early afternoon. However, the deadlines were extended late into the evening and certain municipalities such as Litchfield, Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Bryson, Campbell’s Bay and Fort-Coulonge remained dark until late Monday.
Over 9,000 clients were affected by the outage.
