Hydro-Québec suspends registration for free heat pumps

A few weeks after the launch of the Éconologis program, registration for a free heat pump has been temporarily suspended. Many households will have to wait before they can apply.

Hydro-Québec has suspended registration for its program that allows certain low-income households to obtain a free heat pump. The program, linked to Éconologis and the LogisVert program, aims to help eligible families improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce their heating costs.

This suspension comes shortly after the program’s launch, when many people were eager to take advantage of this assistance. Households that had already begun the application process should follow the program’s progress to find out what the next steps are.

To be eligible, participants must meet income criteria and have participated in the Éconologis program, which includes a visit from an energy efficiency advisor. Installations of free heat pumps are continuing gradually, depending on the region and deployment capacity.

Hydro-Québec points out that these measures are intended to help low-income households improve their comfort while reducing their energy consumption.
