Hydro-Québec has renewed its operating agreement with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) in Chat Falls, located on the border between Ontario and Québec. The spokesman for Hydro-Quebec, Francis Labbé, gave more details about the renewal.

The agreement will be used to improve certain equipment and technological installations at the facility.

Labbé also explained how the operations and maintenance tasks performed at Chat Falls is a joint operation by Hydro-Québec and OPG.

In operations since 1928, the eight-unit, 192-megawatt jointly owned installation is located on the Ottawa River. The OPG predecessor, Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario, reached an agreement with Chats Falls Power Company (now Hydro-Québec) for the development and operation of a powerhouse on the Ottawa River.
The complete interview with Francis Labbé is available here.
