Hunters invited to donate their hunting meat to food banks
Hunters invited to donate their hunting meat to food banks
A wonderful solidarity initiative is offered to hunters who wish to help individuals and families in need. Those who hunt deer, moose or bear but do not consume all harvested meat can donate it to a food bank.
The goal is to allow more people access to meat, while avoiding food waste.
An important condition, however, is that the meat must be cut in a butcher shop. Once prepared, it can then be returned to the food bank.
This initiative is a reminder that hunting can be much more than just a sport or outdoor activity. It can also become a concrete gesture of mutual aid and sharing within the community.
Hunters are therefore encouraged to be generous and contribute, as they can, to support those most in need.
Because donating meat can make a real difference on a family’s plate.
