Houblon Grand Calumet, a local company that aims to promote the Pontiac
A new company was born in Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Houblon Grand Calumet. This business specializes in the cultivation and sale of hops is managed by three business partners, Lisa Lance and her spouse Richard Côté as well as Pierre Fréchette. For Lisa Lance, this business represents not only a business project, but also a return to her native village.
“We were based in Cantley and found that city life was not for us. I am from Île-du-Grand-Calumet and we had the opportunity to take over my uncle’s hop field. It all happened quickly, but we don’t regret it, it’s rolling, ”says Lisa Lance, who underlines the addition and contribution of their new business partner, Pierre Fréchette.
Houblon Grand Calumet has already seen its product be used in beers from the Hoffman Brewery in Campbell’s Bay. This use, among others in Kottbusser beer is, according to Pierre Fréchette, a way of highlighting Île-du-Grand-Calumet and the entire Pontiac.
“That’s what we want to do. Demonstrating, through local businesses, that there is dynamism in the Pontiac and through our products and our young entrepreneurs, we will be able to make the Pontiac shine, ”says Pierre Fréchette.
An official launch of the company is expected to take place in the coming weeks. The French interview with Lisa Lance, Richard Côté and Pierre Fréchette of Houblon Grand Calumet, is available here.
