Hospital visits now permitted

29 June 2020 à 12:00 am

Hospital visits are once again permitted today. Despite this new opening for relatives of hospitalized users, the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais requests the collaboration of the population to limit their visits to the essential, since the COVID-19 virus still circulates in the community.

“The current pandemic context, although less critical, remains. We therefore encourage everyone who comes to the hospital as a visitor, companion or caregiver to take all the necessary precautions,” said CISSS de l’Outaouais in a press release.

Clear instructions must be followed for each visitor:
– A questionnaire on the possible presence of COVID symptoms will be sent to each visitor.
– Visitors are not admitted to the intensive care units of various hospitals and to the coronary care unit of Hull Hospital due to the vulnerability of the clientele.
– Any visitor showing symptoms of Covid-19 or having been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 28 days will be refused their visit.
– A visitor will be identified at the entrance and each of them will then have to go to the nurses’ post of the unit visited so that their name is entered in the visitor register.
– Wearing a face covering is strongly recommended.
– Hand washing with alcohol-based cleaners will be mandatory upon arrival.
– The physical distance of 2 meters must be respected at all times with employees and users.
– No child under the age of 14 is allowed as a visitor.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais adds that compliance with these rules will prevent the spread of COVID-19 and therefore relies on the population to apply them.

Note that the care units will continue to use technological means to communicate with the relatives and families of those hospitalized.
