A new class action lawsuit is being filed against Honda Canada in Quebec due to a paint defect affecting some of its vehicles.
An application for authorization to proceed with this class action was filed on August 6 with the Superior Court of Quebec in Montreal. It specifically targets 2013 and newer models with a pearlescent white body.
According to the allegations presented in the application, the paint on some vehicles is deteriorating prematurely, notably by chipping or peeling off the body.
This is the second such legal action against Honda Canada in less than ten years. The case is being handled by the law firm Lex Group, which also spearheaded a previous class action lawsuit concerning rear windows on Honda vehicles that allegedly shattered unexpectedly.
For now, this is an application for authorization to institute a class action: the court will therefore have to determine whether the conditions are met for the lawsuit to proceed.
