Halloween COVID-19 edition

30 October 2020 à 12:00 am

In a press release, the Centre intégré de santé et des services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, in preparation for Halloween, would like to remind everyone of the important instructions to protect the families who will go trick-or-treating:

  • Children should only be accompanied by people from their household. We therefore remain with your family bubble;
  • The candy collecting tour will have to be limited to the neighborhood surrounding the participants’ homes;
  • As much as possible, the children will have to collect the candies and sweets placed 2 meters away from the people living in the house they visit;
  • People with symptoms of Covid-19 or in isolation should not participate;
  • People must always keep a 2 meter distance with others, wear a face cover and refrain from singing or shouting in front of the people they visit;
  • Hand washing is recommended before leaving and upon returning home.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais reminds the population that gatherings in private homes are not permitted in the red zones, including parties with friends or relatives. It is important to make sure that this festive day is celebrated in a safe and cautious way while the Covid-19 pandemic is still affecting our area. Families are encouraged to find alternatives to celebrate Halloween with their children such as organizing a scavenger hunt at home or doing Halloween themed culinary and creative activities.

For more information on Covid-19, the population is invited to visit the Quebec government website or their website with Covid-19 information for the Outaouais region.

People with symptoms or concerns about Covid-19 are first invited to complete the online symptom selfassessment tool and if necessary, contact the dedicated information line at 1 877-644-4545.
