Grief support group in Campbell’s Bay
AutonHomme Pontiac will offer a grief support group this fall for people experiencing bereavement who wish to share, express themselves, and journey with others going through a similar experience.
The group will be facilitated by Ali-John Chaudhary, a psychotherapist with 20 years of experience who has led several grief and loss support groups in the Pontiac region. His approach is described as humane, empathetic, and respectful.
The program consists of eight meetings, held on Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The first meeting, on October 5th, will focus on the stages and tasks of grief according to Worden’s approach.
The other meetings will cover topics such as presenting the deceased and personal strengths, complicated grief, Focusing and polyvagal theory, strategies for managing rumination, a ritual of letting go, grief mediators, and integrating the learning process.
The meetings will be held at the AutonHomme Pontiac Community Centre, located at 128 Front Street in Campbell’s Bay.
Those interested can register or obtain more information from Kim Laroche at 819-648-2309, extension 107, or by email at klaroche@autonhommepontiac.ca.
The goal is to provide a safe space to share, express oneself, and journey together, while developing tools to navigate the grieving process.
