Greg Piazetski gets answers to his long awaited questions
After years of research, Greg Piazetski, the Toronto man with ties the Hudson’s Bay Company fur trading post in the Pontiac, is finally getting results from the long awaited archaeological survey to uncover the Fort Coulonge.
On Wednesday, CHIP 101.9 traveled to Davidson to speak to Piazetski about what they had found thus far. According to him, the team of archaeologists have already found many items identifying the 1848 site, and the corners of buildings.
As for Greg Piazetski, the findings are the first real proof that the post, which his ancestor headed, was on the site identified for the survey.
Tourist attraction
In accordance with the finding gathered by Piazetski and the team of archaeologists, he believes that now there is significant potential for establishing a tourism attraction on the site of the fur trading post in Davidson.
The archaeological Survey will continue throughout the week and tonight (October 1) a presentation on the history of the Fort Coulonge will be given at the Pontiac Conference Center at 7 p.m.
