Good news for Bouffe Pontiac customers ahead of the holiday season
The Bouffe Pontiac organization received $ 10,000 from the MRC to cover the shortfall following the cancellation of their Food Drive. The Pontiac food bank will therefore be able to serve people in need, despite the cancellation of their main fundraising activity.
“The pandemic is not an easy context and we wondered how we were going to do it. This is important since the needs are great during the holiday season ”mentioned the general manager of Bouffe Pontiac, Kim Laroche. The Warden of the MRC Pontiac, Jane Toller, mentioned that the vote was unanimous. “All the mayors were in agreement, we know that it is for an important cause and that Bouffe Pontiac offers an essential service” affirmed Jane Toller.
Good news for people receiving Christmas baskets
The amounts invested by the MRC Pontiac are still not sufficient to meet all the needs of the organization as the holiday season approaches. “Usually the individual donations we receive help us meet any need for this time of year. Unfortunately, the context of the pandemic means that donations have not been so large. However, we received a call from the Choquette-Legault foundation announcing a donation of $ 10,000. We are really relieved. So we have everything we need to serve the people who have registered ”explained Kim Laroche.
Note that the Choquette-Legault Foundation supports projects of charitable organizations working in the fields of health, education and social development.
