Gilles Dionne Seeks a Return to Active Politics

Former Mayor of Mansfield-et-Pontefract, Gilles Dionne, is making a return to active politics. This time, he is seeking election as councillor for Seat No. 3.

“I missed it. I enjoy politics and serving the community, but I think I needed to step away to realize that,” Dionne said. He noted that some issues remain particularly important to him, including the water system.

“One of the files I wanted to see move forward at the time was expanding access to the aqueduct for more Mansfield residents. I believe now is a good time for my return, because the federal government seems interested in moving in that direction,” he explained.

Before taking on the role again, Dionne will need to win the seat. Another candidate, Ghyslaine Fortin, has already entered the race for this position.
