During the press conference held last Friday, the Pontiac Sorting Center explained that they were forced to significantly reduce their services due the delay of the Ministry of the Environment on granting the Center an authorization to bury residual materials on land located near the Litchfield site. During the conference, the Sorting Center gave details on the process of treating asbestos (a group of six naturally occurring fibrous minerals composed of thin, needle-like fibers). The director of operations, Gerry Philippe.

Note that the Pontiac Sorting Center laid-off 32 employees but did not close, even though the company raised the possibility.
