Gatineau Hosts the 2026 National Youth Elected Officials Meeting
Hundreds of young people from across Quebec will gather in Gatineau this weekend for the 2026 National Youth Elected Officials Meeting.
Organized by the Institut du Nouveau Monde in collaboration with Gatineau’s Youth Commission, the event will bring together participants aged 12 to 18 who are active in their student councils.
Over two days, the youth will discuss issues related to democracy and civic engagement, aiming to propose concrete solutions. The program includes workshops and debates on topics such as artificial intelligence and democracy, meetings with inspiring personalities, and discussions with elected officials from various levels of government.
The event also serves as a space for networking and collective reflection for a new generation eager to actively participate in society.
Interviews with participants, elected officials, and representatives from the organizing team will be available on site.
