Gardeners invited to exchange their perennial plants in Thorne

Gardeners invited to exchange their perennial plants in Thorne

4 September 2026 à 3:46 pm

Gardening enthusiasts are invited to participate in a perennial plant exchange at the Thorne Farmers Market.

The event aims to allow community gardeners to share, exchange, and give their plants a new lease on life. Participants are encouraged to bring any perennials they no longer need and leave with new plants for their gardens.

According to the organizers, September is a good time for this type of transplanting. The cooler temperatures and still-warm soil allow perennials to develop their roots before winter arrives, promoting healthy growth the following spring.

The event will also be an opportunity to meet other gardeners, exchange tips, and share ideas on plant care.

Beginners in gardening are also welcome. You don’t need to have a plant to exchange: new gardeners can simply participate, meet the community, and perhaps leave with a small perennial to start their own garden.

With this initiative, the market hopes to encourage local gardening, reduce waste, and strengthen community ties.
