Fort-Coulonge: the sewer system is functional

The municipality of the village of Fort-Coulonge informs its citizens that the sewer system is now restored. Evacuated residents will gradually be able to return to their homes in the coming days. The municipality is asking its residents to follow the instructions given by the fire department and CHIP 101.9 spoke to Mayor Gaston Allard who gave more details about the instruction:

The inspection of residences by the fire department is however required before being able to reintegrate them. The fire department will also complete the rest of the inspections by 4pm tomorrow and the municipality will notify residents who are allowed to return home;

If the fire department has already inspected your home, you can return home. Please remember to follow the instructions given by the fire department. The fire department will complete the rest of the inspections today and tomorrow. As soon as your house has been inspected, you can return and please remember to follow the instructions given by the fire department.

If you are a tenant of the Waskahegen Corporation, you must obtain their permission to return to your home by calling François Brunet at 819-918-1985.

If you are a tenant, you must obtain the authorization of the owner before returning to your home.

When you return to your home, do not forget to take lots of pictures of the damages and all damaged articles before you begin the cleaning process.
