Fort-Coulonge reminds its citizens to respect the regulations on the use of water
The hot and humid weather will continue in the coming days. Today and tomorrow, the expected temperature should reach 38°C.
Some municipalities have recalled in the last hours the municipal regulations towards the automatic watering of gardens, lawn or other plants. Among other things, the municipality of Fort-Coulonge pointed out that the by-laws allow watering between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.
First in the sector east of rue Baume (towards the Grand Marais), Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and west of rue Baume, or towards the Pont-Rouge on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The purpose of this by-law is to regulate the use of drinking water distributed by the municipality’s water network in order to preserve the quality, quantity of the resource and achieve the objectives of the Quebec Strategy for saving of drinking water.
Anyone who breaks this by-law is liable:
If it is a physical person:
– A fine of $ 200 for a first offense;
– A fine of $ 600 for a first repeat offense;
– A fine of $ 1,000 for any additional repeat offenses.
These regulations are in effect from May 15th to September 15th.
