Fort-Coulonge Minor Hockey teams back to playing in Ontario

The Fort-Coulonge Minor Hockey Association will once again be playing in Ontario this upcoming season, greatly reducing their travel to games.

Association President Paul Boisvert explained that they had to get approval from Hockey Quebec to play across the river like they typically do, as they played their last season in Quebec due to public health restrictions. He said that it makes a big difference for parents to drive to Pembroke or Arnprior rather than Gatineau or Buckingham.

Boisvert said that their annual fundraiser ball tournament, which took place over the August long weekend, was a great success, bringing in more than $10,000.

Coming up on Sunday, September 11 from 1-3 p.m., Boisvert explained that they would be hosting a used equipment swap and sale at the hall above the arena so parents can save some money while outfitting their children for the season.

More information is available on their social media page.
