Fish Findlay 3 on 3 tournament coming this weekend
This weekend, the Shawville Arena will be playing host to the annual charity tournament, the Fish Findlay Classic 3 on 3, taking place for the first time since the start of the pandemic. Darcy Findlay, one of the organizers, explained that they have raised money for a variety of causes over the years, but said that this year they would be supporting the Shawville and District Minor Hockey Association (SDMHA).
He said that things will get underway on Friday night at 6 p.m. and will run to 11:40 p.m. On Saturday, games will start at 10:40 a.m. and will run until 11:40 p.m. again, with the A Division finals taking place at 9:10 p.m. Both Friday and Saturday nights the Shawville Lions will be running the bar in their hall above the arena, and the Riley New Band will be playing on Saturday night. The B finals will take place on Sunday afternoon, starting at 2:25.
Findlay said that they have a great group of volunteers through the SDMHA, but the more the merrier.
