First Pontiac Seedy Saturday a success

The TCRA Hall in Ladysmith was packed on Saturday (April 6) for an exchange of seeds and knowledge among Pontiac’s gardening and environmental community.

Called “Seedy Saturday”, the event drew 22 vendors to the hall selling food items and various products, as well as environmental groups offering information on local issues.

Organizer Carrie Ann Watson explained that she and a group of volunteers have been working on the event since January. She said that given the day’s success, she wished to see it become an annual event.

She said that on top of exchanging seeds, there were workshops on subjects like composting.
