Finding short-term and long-term solutions for the Shawville Hospital
During Wednesday’s meeting between the mayors of the MRC Pontiac and the Centre intégré de santé et services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais, it was resolved to establish a working group to create an action plan moving forward for the Shawville Hospital. According to the Warden of the MRC Pontiac, Jane Toller, the action plan should include incentives, created at the local level, to encourage nurses to establish in the Pontiac.
The hope of the MRC in working with the CISSSO is to outline clear, realistic and achievable objectives in both the short-term and long-term.
This resolution, unanimously approved by the mayors of the MRC, was mainly to ask for additional funding from the ministère de la Santé et des Services Sociaux as a way for nurses hired that the Pontiac Community Hospital to have same salaries as Ontario nurses.
Note that the 2020-21 Québec budget will be tabled on March 11, 2020.
