Familiar Faces Among Candidates in L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet

As announced earlier this week by CHIP 101.9, the outgoing mayor of L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Jean-Louis Corriveau, has filed his candidacy for a new term as the municipality’s mayor. If elected, this would be Mr. Corriveau’s second term, following his victory in the 2021 municipal election.

Former mayor Serge Newberry has also entered the race, running for Councillor Position 1. So far, he is the only candidate for this seat. Candidates have until Friday, October 3, at 4:30 p.m. to submit their applications.

The election is scheduled for November 3, with advance voting taking place on Sunday, October 26.
