Evolugen (Brookfield) gives $20, 000 to Maisons des Jeunes du Pontiac
A donation of $20,000 was made to the Maisons des Jeunes du Pontiac (Pontiac Youth Centers) by Evolugen (new identity of Brookfield Energy in Canada).
“This year, Evolugen has decided to focus on youth aid (in particular adolescents) in the regions near its facilities, far from major centers,” said a press release published on Wednesday. This initiative was announced during a fundraising event that aimed to help communities in Evolugen’s area of operations.
Having hydropower plants in Mansfield-et-Pontefract and Waltham, the company has approached the Pontiac Youth Centers “in recognition of their considerable contribution to help the Pontiac youth to stay active and be responsible.”
The Maisons des Jeunes will use this donation to train and hire young workers, to maintain school retention activities, as well as to organize more socio-cultural and sporting outings. They also plan to repair the Youth Centers’ vehicle.
