La ferme Northfork, located in the Upper Pontiac, is organizing a dinner this Saturday (February 4) with a theme French Canadian fur traders (coureurs des bois). Organizer Caroline Coombs explained how they chose the theme.

“The coureurs des bois is something I find so interesting because of the history of this area,” she said (translated). “They are such proud, brave people. And it was a… I want… It’s such a passion of these people and nostalgic for what they were doing. The way they lived and the things they ate.”

The menu will be filled with traditional dishes.

“Pea soup, ham, small tourtières, charcuterie board, ham with potatoes dauphinoise and bacon or, also, you can have mushroom crêpes. And chômeur pudding and the second choice, sugar pie,” she said (translated).

The cost is $40 per person and more information can be found at 613-890-7548.
