Environment Canada issues heat warning for Monday and Tuesday
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Pontiac on Monday as well as Saint-Jean-Baptiste (June 23-24), as humidex values could rise to between 40 and 45 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to top 30 degrees C and remain above 20 degrees overnight. The public is advised to take precautions and limit their exposure.
“Take action to protect yourself and others – extreme heat can affect everyone’s health,” the statement reads. “Determine if you or others around you are at greater risk of heat illness. Check on older adults, those living alone and other at-risk people in-person or on the phone multiple times a day.”
