Élections Québec 2026: Everything you need to know to vote today
Today, October 5th, Quebec voters are heading to the polls for the provincial election. In the Pontiac, polling stations are open until 8 p.m. tonight.
Before heading out to vote, here is some of the key information you need to know to exercise your right to vote.

Élections Québec – Where and when to vote
For Pontiac voters, all that remains is to check your polling location, bring an accepted piece of identification, and arrive before the polls close at 8 p.m.
What do you need to bring?
To vote, you must present an identification document accepted by Élections Québec. This can include:
- your Quebec driver’s licence;
- your Quebec health insurance card;
- your Canadian passport;
- your Certificate of Indian Status;
- your Canadian Forces identification card.
If you do not have any of these identification documents, you may still be able to vote. Election staff can direct you to an identity verification table, where different options are available to confirm your identity.
A few rules to follow at the polling station
Once inside the polling station, voters cannot use their phones or other devices to take photos or record audio.
Élections Québec also asks voters to exercise restraint. This means, among other things, not displaying signs of support for a political party and not disclosing their choice to election staff or other voters present.
How late can you vote?
Polling stations are open until 8 p.m. today.
If you have not yet checked your polling location, Élections Québec allows you to do so online by entering your address.
