Earth Day: environmental sobriety highlighted in public administration
On this Earth Day, organizations and institutions are highlighting the importance of taking concrete action to reduce our environmental impact.
This year’s theme, environmental sobriety, encourages consuming less—but above all, consuming better. The goal is to reduce our ecological footprint while improving quality of life, without it necessarily meaning going without.
In this context, Environment Day in the public administration is being marked with a special focus on moderation in textile consumption, as a way to raise awareness among employees and the public about the environmental impact of the fashion industry.
For the occasion, colleagues are sharing various tips and advice to help make better clothing choices, extend the lifespan of garments, and reduce unnecessary purchases. These initiatives will be shared throughout the day on the Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram pages of participating organizations.
This mobilization is part of the broader efforts surrounding Earth Day Canada, a global movement aimed at encouraging concrete actions to protect the planet.
