Early morning arrests for drugs in Mansfield

At around 4 a.m. this morning (January 26), officers with the Pontiac Sûreté du Québec detachment intercepted a vehicle on Hwy. 148 in Mansfield-et-Pontefract for traffic infractions.

Following an inspection of the vehicle, police arrested the two occupants and seized the following:

• more than 28 grams of cocaine
• more than 140 grams of cannabis
• drug trafficking paraphernalia
• more than $700 in cash

A 59-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is expected to appear in court today, where he could face charges related to drug trafficking, breach of conditions and breach of probation. The other occupant of the vehicle is expected to appear in court at a later date in connection with the incident.
