Several residents of the municipality of Île-du-Grand-Calumet, in particular the Chemin Murphy and Chemin de la Montagne sectors, complain about traffic and road maintenance in this sector.

For a few years now, citizens have commented on the situation saying that several drivers do not respect the signs, including the stop sign located at the intersection. Excessive speed causes more dust to rise, according to some residents, who have also sent comments to the municipality last year complaining about the dust, which greatly affects the quality of life of residents.

A local resident, Sylvie Landriault said that the accumulation of dust prevented a lot of day to day activities, especially with the traffic in the spring with the arrival of vacationers, such as drying clothes or even moving around safely, making it almost impossible with the dust clouds. Some citizens also mentioned having filed complaints with the Sûreté du Québec.

The municipal council is currently examining the matter and it has been indicated that solutions are envisaged for the future.
