Drug raid in Fort‑Coulonge: one man arrested and multiple substances seized
Officers from the Sûreté du Québec in the MRC Pontiac, in collaboration with the Outaouais Level 1 Drug Enforcement Team, carried out a targeted operation on June 1st, 2026, in connection with drug trafficking at a residence in Fort‑Coulonge. The intervention led to the arrest of a 36‑year‑old man and the seizure of several illicit substances as well as prohibited weapons.
The search took place in a dwelling on Baume Street, where officers arrested the suspect. He was already wanted under an arrest warrant and appeared before the Campbell’s Bay courthouse. He may eventually face charges related to drug offences, illicit cannabis, and possession of prohibited weapons.
During the operation, officers seized:
- More than 63 methamphetamine tablets
- Nearly 65 grams of cocaine
- More than 165 grams of illicit cannabis
- Over 225 THC‑containing electronic cigarettes
- More than $910 in cash
- Six prohibited weapons
This search was conducted as part of the ACCES Cannabis program, an initiative launched in 2018 by the Ministry of Public Security. The program aims to combat cannabis smuggling at all stages of the supply chain, reduce youth access to illegal products, and encourage consumers to turn to the legal and regulated market.
The operation also aligns with the CENTAURE strategy, which targets organized crime and gun‑related violence in Quebec. This strategy enables police forces across the province to coordinate their efforts to combat the importation, manufacturing, distribution, and illegal possession of firearms.
The Sûreté du Québec reminds the public that any information related to drug trafficking or production can be reported confidentially at any time to the Criminal Information Centre at 1‑800‑659‑4264.
