Disappearance of Robert Chartrand; search will be relaunched on June 12

The family of Robert Chartrand, who disappeared in the Ottawa River last February, is still looking for his body after his snowmobile sank into the water.

The search will begin on June 12 and volunteers are invited to donate their time to find the body. The volunteers are called to meet at 9 a.m. at the Waltham wharf, on June 12, in order to begin the search.

The 30-year-old was wearing a black and orange snowmobile jacket and beige pants when he went missing. Both shores of the Ottawa River will be inspected by volunteers.

Remember that the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officers found the man’s snowmobile in L’Isle-aux-Allumettes last winter.

Last February, it was the snowmobiler’s relatives who contacted the Sûreté du Québec. The search began around 1 am, in collaboration with the Pontiac West Fire Department. The search was concentrated on the edge of the Ottawa River following tracks in the snow near white water. The search had been halted due to the winter conditions.
